Covington Ribbon Cutting

Fort Wayne Trails held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open
the Covington Road trail on November 17th, 2016. The Covington
Trail connects to the already extensive network of trails throughout
the Fort Wayne area. Trail users can now travel via trail from West
Hamilton Road to Headwaters Park (13.5 miles one-way) or take a
longer trip to Moser Park (22 miles one-way). This new section of
trail is 3/4 mile in length. The project included extensive right-of-way
purchases, intensive engineering to construct the trail within the
existing infrastructure and a 200-foot long retaining wall. The total
cost was $1,251,840. Fort Wayne Trails provided $211,241, the
City of Fort Wayne provided $100,000 and the remaining costs
were funded federally by the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Last Minute Gifts and Stocking Stuffers

If you are in need of a last minute gift or some extra items to fill
stockings to their brim this holiday season stop by the Fort Wayne
Trails office! We have a variety of $5 items that would be perfect for
anyone on your list. Take a peek at our awesome items on our
Square page. Visit us anytime Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm.

*Smile for the Camera*

We have many, many photos of happy people on the trails in warm
weather. Lots of smiling, running, cycling, etc. We seem to be
lacking photos showing that same fun on the trails in the snow. That
being said, it looks like December 12th might be the perfect day to
photograph snowy adventures on the trails. Send us an email if you
are available and interested in running, walking, cycling or x-country
skiing for the camera on December 12th.

This is all dependent on dear ol' mother nature of course.

Local Trail Web App

The city of Fort Wayne is test driving a web-based app for our area
trails. We are handing the link over to you to see what you think. Let
us know if anything is missing or if you encounter any bugs and we
will pass it on. Have fun!
