Energizing Indiana and Fort Wayne Trails are partnering to bring you an easy, economical way to support our local trail network. When you sign up for a Home Energy Assessment through Fort Wayne Trails, Energizing Indiana will donate $25 to Fort Wayne Trails! Read on to find out more…
What is a Home Energy Assessment?
A Home Energy Assessment is a service provided by Energizing Indiana with no out-of-pocket expense to you. They will inspect your home and provide suggestions on how to implement energy (and cost!) saving changes. Some of these cost saving measures will be implemented on site by a trained technician. The kit, pictured on the right, includes faucet aerators for your kitchen and bathrooms, several energy saving light bulbs, and new, low-flow shower heads. The technician will also make an inspection of your attic, kitchen appliances, water heater and furnace, exterior, and thermostat, recommending any needed changes. You may also be eligible for an income-qualified weatherization, which can provide new insulation for electrically heated homes. Click here to see a video of the Home Energy Assessment process, or visit EnergizingIndiana.com. But remember, you must fill out our form below for the $25 dollar donation to benefit the trails.
What's the Cost to Participate?
Participating electric utilities pay for the assessment. It comes out of money we pay for our monthly electric utility bills.
Who is Eligible to Participate?
Homeowners or renters who have the electric bill in their name from a participating utility are eligible. The participating electric utilities are Duke Energy, IMPA, AEP, IPL, NIPSCO, and Vectren. The residence must be more than 10 years old, and must not have received a utility-sponsored assessment in the last 3 years. Apartments are not eligible for the assessment.
