Fort Wayne Trails 4th Annual “Get Caught On The Trails”

Posted on Thursday, June 02, 2011

Fort Wayne, Ind.— June 2, 2011 – Today Fort Wayne Trails, Inc. (FWT) announced that the fourth annual “Get Caught on the Trails” event will be held this Saturday, June 4th from 2-4pm. The event location is intentionally wide reaching – anywhere on the 61 miles of Fort Wayne Trails – and is open to all trail users. In celebration of National Trails Day, volunteers along Fort Wayne’s greenways and trails will surprise users with free t-shirts, water bottles, and other promotional materials. The free event is a family-friendly way to take advantage of Fort Wayne’s extensive trails’ system. The event is free, no registration is required and all are welcome. Come rain or shine.

Fort Wayne Trails recognizes Platinum Sponsors -- Carson Boxberger, Green B.E.A.N. Delivery, and YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, and Get Caught Sponsors -- A&Z Engineering, Bandidos, Bussick Orthodontics and Jimmy John’s.
“There’s great enthusiasm building around the Get Caught event. We’re thrilled people remember it so positively from years past and that newcomers are excited to take part,” said Lori Keys, Executive Director of Fort Wayne Trails.

“We’re so thankful to our event sponsors and the many volunteers helping to make this event possible. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the trails every day but this event is especially fun. So walk, run, wheel or ride on the trails and you might be lucky enough to get ‘caught’ and receive one of the many cool give-aways!”

Give-aways include t-shirts, organic produce and water from Green B.E.A.N. Delivery and Jimmy John’s coupons. Media photo opportunities are welcome at 2:15pm at The Parkview YMCA and at 3:15pm at Bandidos on SR14.

Created in January 2011, Fort Wayne Trails, Inc. is a dynamic, not-for-profit [501 (c) (3)] corporation dedicated to improving the quality of life for area citizens through the development of a regional multi-use trail system. FWT’s inception is the result of merging three area non-profit trails’ initiatives – Aboite New Trails, Greenway Consortium and Northwest Allen Trails. There are currently 61 miles of trails, with plans to extend the trails in every direction from the city’s center to connect communities, attract economic development, and improve overall livability throughout Fort Wayne and Allen County.
