Parkview – VP/Facilities Planning, Design & Construction

Year Joined Fort Wayne Trails Board: 2018

Why Did You Join the Fort Wayne Trails Board?

With Parkview’s focus on the well-being of our community, I have a personal interest in connecting our medical campuses with the local trails system. My son and I spend many evenings on the trails around the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus. As I have traveled to other communities, I have been drawn to those that have very visible, well designed and accessible trails, and believe that the continued development of our trail system will add to the ability of local employers to attract top talent to the Fort Wayne area.

What Does our Trail System Mean to You?

A regular opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and instead connect with nature, friends and family.

How Do You Use the Trails the Most?

Walking and Jogging.

What Excites You Most About FWT’s Mission?

The focus on working with others to make positive change in our community. A lot has been accomplished – it has taken the efforts of many individuals and organizations working together consistently and passionately toward a common goal.

What Do You Want People To Know About Fort Wayne Trails?

FWT’s leadership is passionate about trail safety and accessibility. As someone who walks the trails often along with a family member who is in a wheelchair, this is greatly appreciated.

Brewed IN the Fort is Fort Wayne Trail’s largest annual fundraiser. At the 2019 event, we were able to raise $23,000 for trails in Allen County. Like so many things this year, Brewed IN the Fort has been
canceled, but not all is lost. One part of this fun festival that we have been able to take virtual is the auction. Please help us raise money for expanding and connecting trails in Fort Wayne and Allen County
by bidding on some amazing food, fun, and experiences. The items are now available for preview and the bidding will kick off 12 Noon on Wednesday and will end 5 pm Sunday.
