City Of Fort Wayne -Deputy Director of Planning and Policy

Year Joined Fort Wayne Trails Board: 2018

Board Positions: Trail Users Committee

Why Did You Join the Fort Wayne Trails Board?

To contribute to the strategic planning and prioritization of trail development in Fort Wayne and Allen County and to draw attention to the trail network as an economic development asset that serves transportation and recreation needs.

What Does our Trail System Mean to You?

The trail network provides important connective tissue between neighborhoods and destinations. Having a pleasant and safe alternative to driving everywhere helps to cultivate healthy choices for my children who have developed independence and confidence to ride a bike rather than drive when they can.

How Do You Use the Trails the Most?

Bike riding for transportation and for recreation.

What Excites You Most About FWT’s Mission?

The goal to increase use of trails by the broadest possible spectrum of the regional population.

What Do You Want People To Know About Fort Wayne Trails?

I want people who don’t know about or use the trails to have a first, second and third experience on the trails. For everyone else I want them to bring their friends to the trails once or twice so that it becomes a habit.

Brewed IN the Fort is Fort Wayne Trail’s largest annual fundraiser. At the 2019 event, we were able to raise $23,000 for trails in Allen County. Like so many things this year, Brewed IN the Fort has been
canceled, but not all is lost. One part of this fun festival that we have been able to take virtual is the auction. Please help us raise money for expanding and connecting trails in Fort Wayne and Allen County
by bidding on some amazing food, fun, and experiences. The items are now available for preview and the bidding will kick off 12 Noon on Wednesday and will end 5 pm Sunday.
