We are thrilled to announce an extraordinary milestone for the Fort Wayne Trails network—trail use counts have officially reached one million for the first time in history! In 2024, the 22 infrared trail counters distributed across the 148-mile Allen County trail network counted 1,032,077 uses! This remarkable achievement highlights the growing appreciation for the trails and their importance to the health, wellness, and quality of life in our community.
This milestone is a testament to the dedication of trail users, volunteers, and supporters who make the Fort Wayne Trails network such a cherished resource. Whether you’re walking, running, cycling, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, every step or pedal stroke has contributed to this historic moment.
As we celebrate this accomplishment, we are inspired to continue expanding and improving the network. Together, we can reach even greater milestones and create lasting memories for generations to come.
Fort Wayne Trails partners with the City of Fort Wayne and the Northeastern Indiana Regional Coordinating Council (NIRCC) to collect and analyze the data from the counters.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to one million and beyond!
