On the shortest day, let’s light the night as we walk and bike! Folks are encouraged to bring a flashlight, battery-operated lantern, or battery-operated lights to help light up the walk or bike ride. Create a glow costume or dress up your ride! All bikes are required to have a front white light and a red rear reflector or red rear light and we also encourage everyone to be safe and wear a helmet and add lights and decorations to their bikes.
This free community event is possible through a partnership with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, PublicWorks Greenways and Trails, Fort Wayne Trails, Trek Bikes Fort Wayne, and the City of Fort Wayne.
Doors to the Wolf Family Learning Center open at 4:30 pm; come mingle!
The walk (1.65 mile) will begin at 5:00 pm and the bike ride (6.5 miles) begins at 4:45 pm.
At 5:45 pm we’ll all gather back at the Farm for free hot drinks, grilled goodies provided by Trek Bikes Fort Wayne, and a bonfire! IT’S ALL FREE!
The event is weather permitting and could be canceled if weather conditions are not favorable. Keep an eye on this event and Salomon Farm Park’s Facebook page for updates or cancellations.
Lights must be battery-operated. No real fire is permitted for the walk or bike ride.
