Fort Wayne Trails has joined forces with Fort4Fitness through their charity partner program. This means that for every runner, walker, or biker who registers for any or all of the Spring Cycle, Fall Festival, or Fantasy of Lights 5K events as a charity partner for Fort Wayne Trails, Fort4Fitness will donate a portion of your registration fees to the trails! Road races are a good way to develop a healthy habit of regular exercise as you train for the big race day. You can utilize the Pufferbelly Run/Walk/Stroll in July as a warmup race, and run in the Fort4Fitness race in September, and then enjoy the fun and beauty of the Fantasy of Lights 5K as you cool down, benefitting the trails every time! Here’s how it works:
First, choose your event from either the Spring Cycle, Fall Festival, or Fantasy of Lights 5K. Then, from the dropdown labeled “Enter a Charity Partner code” select Fort Wayne Trails.
Already registered? You can still join our team! Please contact us and let us know the name you registered under for the Spring Cycle, Fall Festival, or Fantasy of Lights 5K, and we can get you added to our team. This is the simplest way you can help, as a portion of your registration fees will be contributed to the trails.
A race can be a challenging event, especially if you’ve never done one before. Many people give themselves extra motivation by having their family or friends pledge to contribute money if they complete the race. Some choose to ask for a certain amount of money for every mile they plan on running. Others just ask for a flat contribution if they finish the race. This step is optional, of course, but can be a great way to make a larger impact.
The most important step: complete the race! If we get enough registrants on the Fort Wayne Trails team, we will be given a reunion area in Parkview Field after the Fall Festival. (More details to be provided later.) We look forward to seeing, and congratulating, everyone that participates on our behalf!
It’s our sincere hope that providing a variety of races, whether our own or through partners, will help you to develop life-long, healthy habits. Happy trails!
